Baseball Battles Warhawks And Indians

The Shamrocks lost on the road to Bourbon and Pacific this past week in search of their third-season victory. 

Bourbon 

New Haven (2-11) fell against Bourbon (6-7) in a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday, Apr. 24. 

With 25 batting appearances, the Shamrocks grabbed 11 hits and two walks. 

Ryan Steinbeck and Andrew Noelke both had a team-high two hits. 

Weston Hecktor and Thomas Wiedemann both executed a hit and a walk. 

Trevor Hinten, Reid Lueckenhoff, Michael McFerrin, Jacob Gerdes and Austin Bradley made a hit. 

Andrew Noelke pitched until the bottom of the 5th for the Shamrocks. He delivered three strikeouts, while giving up five hits, four earned runs and three walks. 

Jacob Gerdes finished the game and allowed four earned runs, hits and walks. 

Pacific 

The Shamrocks (2-12) struggled against a tough Pacific squad (14-4) in a 25-1 loss on Thursday, Apr. 25. The Indians currently lead the Four Rivers Conference. 

New Haven tallied three hits, an RBI and a walk with 12 at-bat appearances. 

Steinbeck was the only scorer for the Shamrocks and made a hit. His run came in the bottom of the first, and he was able to punch it home on Bradley’s grounder. 

Bradley drove in an RBI and a hit. 

Noelke delivered a hit. 

Bradley was on the mound for the first two innings. He made a strikeout while surrendering six hits and three walks. 

Jace Ritchie came in for relief during the top of the 3rd. He gave up six earned runs, four walks and a hit. 

Wiedemann finished the inning, allowing five earned runs, five hits and two walks.
